MMHC is expanding their services to increase support to families, young adults, adolescents, and children. We are currently offering a one-day a week Social Skills group for those who are struggling socially to gain the skills they need to have successful relationships with peers and adults as well as being successful in a variety of settings including home, school, and the community.

Current Age Groups: Ages 6-10; Ages 13-17

*Please note this program is expanding quickly and will soon be available for ages 6-25!

This skills group is designed for children who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Other diagnoses that lead to struggles in social settings may also be appropriate. Examples include ADHD or anxiety.

Throughout the 8 weeks, your child will learn new skills to further their social relationships and individual development. Topics include:

  • Psychoeducation about their diagnosis

  • Understanding emotions and social cues
  • Anger management and frustration tolerance skills
  • Adaptive skills (eating, grooming, dressing, health care, home safety)
  • Stigma and self-esteem
