Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder Assessment (ADHD & ADD)

ADHD & ADD Assessment

  • ADHD – Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder
  • ADD – Attention Deficit Disorder

ADHD is typically characterized by symptoms such as hyperactivity and inattentiveness. It usually begins during childhood years. The most effective treatment for ADHD is considered to be a combination of medication and psychological and behavioral therapies. Our skilled clinicians specialize in providing tests to determine if a diagnosis of ADHD is appropriate and will work with your child and family to determine the best treatment course for each individual case.

What is the difference between ADHD & ADD?

The terms ADD and ADHD are often used interchangeably, although the current correct medical terminology is ADHD or Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder.  ADD was the diagnostic term used in the third addition of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual (DMS), later revisions of the DSM changed the diagnosis name to Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder to reflect new findings in research*.
